I’m taking a break from editing to mention an idea I will develop in the background while my major series projects are still in development. I had an idea a few months ago for a Hispanic based book, probably a stand-alone volume, about three sisters in a small Latin American country that have to rebuild after a hurricane. Undrowning is a Puerto Rican term “Desahogar” translated into English.
It refers to dragging yourself out of incredible difficulty and that’s what I mean to explore in this story.
Mira, my main character, was studying in America but came back to her country to help the people she left behind. Though some of them resent her for seemingly thinking she was better than them, she will fight crime and corruption to make their home a better place.
Today I made a mockup cover for it.
